| Flash Based Custom User Interfaces : Room Partitioning
Room Partitions are one of those lighting control tasks that is typically simple in theory, but difficult to implement elegantly. Only a handful of architectural lighting control systems can accomplish this task, but many of these leave much to be desired. A simple network of CueServers can easily control an array of rooms, and when combined with a Flash-based user interface for controlling which partitions are open or closed, the solution becomes clear. In this example, clicking on one of the "OPEN" or "CLOSED" buttons toggles the partition's state, which sends a message to CueServer to reconfigure which button stations control which areas. Clicking on any of the three rooms, selects that room (or combined space). The room or space that is selected shows a graphic representation of the same "physical" button station in the room. Clicking on one of the preset buttons sends to CueServer the same command as if a user pushed the button on the wall, providing complete remote control of the rooms. Of course, as users in the rooms change the lighting looks, the on-screen display of which scenes are active in which rooms updates "live".
