The Power of Sidewinder Introducing the Smallest and Most Portable Self-Contained Lighting Control Console in the World... Sidewinder DMX is a portable DMX processor with the power of a console built into an ultra-miniature package. Designed to be the smallest, most feature packed portable DMX processor available, Sidewinder opens a wide range of new DMX control applications, such as:
Even though Sidewinder looks simple on the outside, internally it is packed with serious lighting control capabilities, like playback faders, submasters, bump buttons, cue lists, macros, live stage overlays, DMX input and output and more.
The portable version of Sidewinder packs all of these features into a 7 ounce, 1.5 inch thick package by moving all of the physical buttons, sliders, encoders and displays to an external user interface that is all accessed through the built-in RS-232 interface. The only physical buttons that were left on the unit include four user-definable macro buttons.
Sidewinder XR starts with the same features as the Portable Sidewinder but is designed for more permanent installations when Sidewinder is used as a dedicated playback controller or remote focus tool. Sidewinder XR adds eight user-defined macro buttons, external macro trigger inputs, has direct line-voltage input and a ruggedized case that can be used on a desktop or can be rack-mounted.
Many users will want to use Sidewinder's features through a portable graphical user interface, such as our award-winning Figment DMX for Palm OS application (download it for free now!). Figment DMX unleashes Sidewinder's power for Remote Focus, DMX Troubleshooting, Show Programming and Playback. Figment runs on virtually all available Palm OS compatible PDAs. You can now connect a Sidewinder interface to your Palm OS compatible PDA through a serial HotSync cable or wirelessly through the all new Sidewinder Bluetooth Module. Sidewinder can also be used in other applications where a show controller, media controller, PC or anything else that outputs an RS-232 serial signal needs to have control of DMX equipment. With Interactive Technologies' open API (application programming interface) to Sidewinder, system engineers can produce custom applications. Visit the Sidewinder's FAQ page for a list of frequently asked questions about Sidewinder. For updates to Sidewinder's firmware, check the downloads page. Sidewinder's detailed specifications are available on the Specifications page. If you are looking for technical assistance, check the Sidewinder Support page.
